On April 6, 1997, 18-year-old Natasha Cornett was looking to escape her mundane life in Pikeville, Kentucky, along with five other troubled youths: Edward Dean Mullins, 19; Joseph Lance Risner, 20; Crystal R. Sturgill, 18; Jason Blake Bryant, 14; and Karen R. Howell, 17. The gang hit the road and were heading towards New Orleans, Louisiana, hoping to start a fresh new life there. Somewhere along their trip, they ran into the Lillelid family in Greeneville, Tennessee. The Lillelid family were Jehovah Witnesses who had two children, aged 6 and 2. They attempted to convert the youths to their religion. Instead, they forced the the family to drive them to a desolate road in Tennessee, where they shot the man and his wife, as well as their kids. The gang then abandoned their original vehicle and carjacked the family’s van and took off with it, attempting to cross through the Mexican boarder. Since they didn’t have the proper papers to pass through, all six youths were taken into custody by US Customs. The 2-year-old that they had shot, Peter, was found alive in a ditch, making him the only survivor of his family. He had been shot once in the torso and once in the eye, leaving him permanently blind and disabled. In court, Natasha proclaimed that she was the ‘’daughter of Satan’’. In the end, all six youths were sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole. As of today, Peter is living in Sweden with his aunt and still has difficulty walking as a result of his injuries.

Stewart Weldon is a suspected serial killer from Springfield, Massachusetts. On May 27th, 2018, police attempted to pull over Weldon for a broken tail light. He subsequently led the officers on a chase which ended with Weldon crashing into one of the police vehicles.

Upon entering his car, police found a woman being held against her will who appeared to have had “bruising all over her body, various healed and open wounds, injuries to her jaw, a severe infection from a lesion on one of her legs and multiple stab wounds to her abdomen.” She also had suffered blunt force trauma, which she later explained was due to Weldon beating her with a hammer.

After being found, she exclaimed “You saved my life!“ and “He was going to kill me!” She was being held captive for more than a month.

Three days later, on May 30, 2018, after receiving a call from a neighbor about a rancid stench, police went to Weldon’s property. After an extensive week long search, they recovered the bodies of Ernestine Ryans, 47, Kayla Jeanne Escalante, 26, and America Canales-Lyden, 34. It is not known how they died at this time.

Another woman also came forward in late June claiming that Weldon tried to kidnap her and drag her into his home, but she was able to fight off his advances. The Boston Globe has also spoken with several other women who allegedly encountered or escaped Weldon, one of whom reportedly did not call police because she was afraid that no one would believe her. He has said to have preyed on weak or sick women, with one of the surviving victims having been picked up in his car while limping down the road.

This case is currently under investigation.

The prison cell Ted Bundy escaped from at the Glenwood Springs jail on December 30, 1977. He lost weight specifically to be able to fit through the hole he made in the ceiling of his cell, and walked out of the jail wearing the jailer’s street clothes.

He wasn’t captured for over two months. He traveled to Florida and committed some of his most infamous crimes, both of which he received the death penalty for: the Chi Omega House murders, and the murder of 12 year old Kimberley Leach.
